Refund and Returns Policy

MegaScaleDieCast (operated from Gauteng, South Africa)
At MegaScaleDieCast we want you to be completely satisfied with your diecast model cars. This policy explains your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECT Act), as well as our own voluntary return policy for change-of-mind returns.
1. Cooling-Off Period (7 Days – ECT Act)
You may cancel your online order and return the goods within 7 days of receiving them, without giving a reason.
– You must pay the cost of returning the goods.
– Goods must be unused, in their original unopened packaging, with all tags and accessories intact.
– Once we receive the returned item in saleable condition, we will issue a full refund (including the original delivery fee) within 5–7 business days to the original payment method.
2. Change-of-Mind Returns (30 Days)
We offer a 30-day change-of-mind return window on top of the legal 7-day cooling-off period.
– Items must be in their original, unopened packaging and in resalable condition.
– Diecast models are precision collectibles — opened or used items are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
– You are responsible for return shipping costs.
– We will refund the product price only (original delivery fee is non-refundable unless the return qualifies under the 7-day cooling-off period).
3. Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Items (CPA Rights)
Under the Consumer Protection Act you have strong rights if goods are faulty:
– You may return the item within 6 months of purchase for a full refund, repair or replacement (your choice).
– If the same fault appears again within 3 months after repair/replacement, you may demand a refund.
– Please contact us immediately with clear photos of the defect, order number and photos of the packaging.
– We will arrange a free return collection where possible or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs.
Exclusions (no return or refund allowed):
– Items damaged by customer misuse, accident or improper storage.
– Custom or personalised orders.
– Items sold as “clearance”, “seconds” or “final sale” (clearly marked at checkout).
– Opened packaging on collectible diecast models where the value is affected.
4. How to Return an Item
1. Email admin@megascalediecast.co.za with your order number and reason for return.
2. Wait for our return authorisation (RMA) number.
3. Ship the item back (with original packaging) to the address we provide.
4. Include a copy of your invoice and the RMA number.
Refunds are processed within 5–7 business days after we receive and inspect the item.
Important: We operate from Gauteng, South Africa. All returns are subject to South African law. This policy does not limit your rights under the CPA.
